4-axis Turning (X, Z, C and Y axis) Programmer Course – Siemens Control including ShopTurn

Using the Siemens' ShopTurn function, along with ISO codes, helps fast and efficient programming. The course consists of step-by-step instructions beginning with basic principles and gradually increasing in complexity. Specific descriptions and programming examples will also be covered in the course.

By the end of the course, you should be able to program components to a reasonable standard, thus achieving the full potential of your 4-axis CNC turning centres.

Applicants should have a basic knowledge of Engineering and an understanding of component drawings would be advisable.

Specific course content includes:

• Introduction & General Layout of Machine
• Operator, Keyboard & Soft-key Explanation
• Axes Configuration X, Z, C and Y if required
• Modes e.g. T, S, M and MDA etcÉ& Program Manager
• Tool List Creation and Editing & Work Offset Menus
• Create Shop Turn Program with Program Header
• Planning the Machining Process & Structure
• Contour Turning & Utilising ShopTurn
• Turning, Facing & Boring Cycles
• Hole Machining with Drilling, Tapping Cycles etc.
• Simulating and Troubleshooting Programs
• Grooving, Part Off, Threading Cycles
• Drilling, Tapping
• Drilling, Tapping & Thread Milling Cycles Using C or Y-axis
• Pocket, Spigot & Engraving Milling Cycles Using C or Y-axis
• Set Marks, Repeats in Sub Routines
• Transformations Offset, Rotation Mirroring etc.
• Explanation of Counter Spindle and Transfers if required
• Description of M codes relative to type of Machine
• Examples Utilising the Above
• USB communication to machine

This course is run at the Mills CNC Machinery Solutions Training Academy's facility in Leamington or can be held at a customer's facility. (Charges will be different to above.)

This course is theoretical and classroom-based using Touch Screen Computers with Siemens Sinutrain Control Simulation Software. Time can be spent training on a Siemens-controlled machine depending on availability.

If training is required at a customer's facility, it is important that attendees have a room with a projector & whiteboard available & unrestricted access to a Siemens-controlled turning centre if required.

• Day 4: Start: 9.00am - Finish: 4.30pm

Machine availability will be decided on the day.
